I am a Boston-based freelance journalist, passionate about accountability journalism and localizing coverage of global climate issues. I strive to uncover impactful stories through visual storytelling, translate complex issues in the natural world, and broaden media access for underserved communities.
Outside of journalism, I am a Science Communications and Social Media Specialist at the Marine Biological Laboratory, an affiliate of the University of Chicago. I develop and curate multimedia content (videos, photos, graphics, writing) highlighting biological and environmental science findings at the Cape Cod–based academic research center.
My bylines have appeared on NASA, The Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Boston.com, The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, The Scope Boston, Planet Forward, Medill Reports, the United Nation's Office for Disaster Risk Reduction's website, and more.
I hold a M.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University with specializations in health, environment, and science reporting and a concentration in data reporting. I also have a B.A. in Journalism from Northeastern University with minors in environmental studies and communications.
In 2025, I reported from Chicago, Dublin, and DC. Based in Northwestern's downtown Chicago newsroom, I reported on environmental justice issues in the South Side, unsustainable water management in northeastern Illinois for the Chicago Tribune, and more. When I was embedded around Ireland, I produced multimedia stories explaining how geoscientists forecast climate change and their research implications for sea level predictions. Over the summer, I was based in the DC area as a journalism, multimedia, and social media intern at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. I wrote about how NASA uses its satellites to observe Earth systems, co-produced a short film about the Apollo missions, coordinated scheduling for a live broadcast about a new Earth-observing satellite, and more.
Prior to the graduate program, I was based in Boston as a metro correspondent for The Boston Globe, reporting on breaking news, local crime, and other general assignments such as protests, weather, and occasional bird sightings. I was also an editorial intern for Frontline PBS in 2024 where I assisted the investigative journalism documentary series team with fact-checking and video verification for four running films including "Two American Families," which won a 2025 Emmy Award for "Outstanding Social Issue Documentary," and "A Year of War: Israelis and Palestinians," which won a 2025 Scripps Howard Award for "Excellence in National/International Video Storytelling."
In past years, I was an editorial assistant for the magazine, travel, and address sections of the Globe, a consumer marketing co-op at the Globe, a freelance copyeditor at The Boston Herald, and a video editor for a Northeastern University-partnered project. I also held two editor positions at my college newspaper where I developed written and multimedia projects, one of which won a College Division Feature Story Award from the New England Newspaper and Press Association.
